How Cech and Vidal can take Arsenal to the next level

What a day it is to be a gooner! Petr Cech has officially been confirmed at the club while news of a possible move for Arturo Vidal has surfaced as well. Cech has put to pen to paper on a four year contract worth £100,000 a week after the clubs agreed a fee of £10.9 million.
As for Vidal, Arsenal are reportedly closing in a deal worth £21 million for the 28 year old, with the Chile star keen to join compatriot Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates.

These two men can take Arsenal to the next level and represent a massive statement of intent. There has been much talk of Arsenal’s need to improve the spine of the side, and these two would go a long way to doing just that.
Cech is the first step, a world class goalkeeper between the sticks to sure up the defence core. Vidal ahead of him would be another piece to the puzzle, as a strong and experienced centre midfielder is a must. Vidal can do the defensive dirty work in front of the back line just as easily as he can start an attack on the other end.
With him marshaling the centre of the park, Arsenal will have strengthened the underbelly significantly. These two represent improvement in quality to the options already available, and hence make the side stronger. Cech is a different class to Ospina and Szczesny with his experience and pedigree.
Vidal is a different option in midfield with his engine and ability on both sides of the ball. Aside from Ramsey and Wilshere, Arsenal don’t really possess box to box players as effective as Vidal, so with him in the side Arsenal will have strengthened the engine room significantly.
He scored 8 league goals in Juventus’ march to the Serie and Coppa Italia titles, as well helping the side to a Champions League final appearance.
These are exactly the kind of marquee signings Arsenal need to reach the next level. Proven match winners at the highest level.
